I sing while I drive

The Renaissance trucker is all about combining all of my various interests with trucking. Recently I have started singing while I drive. This is fantastic. I used to be sad that I could not practice an instrument while I drove. It would be very hard to play piano or guitar while driving.. But I certainly can sing while I drive.

After all, I don’t need my mouth to operate 13 gears of pure diesel fury.

So I have been practicing my singing and it is bringing me great joy. I have down loaded this app, iReal Pro that has charts and pre-recorded tracks for all of my favorite jazz standards. This is the greatest way to practice singing. if you can successfully sing songs from the golden Era of song you can pretty much sing anything. All of the modern songs are pretty basic in comparison. simple melodies, simple chord changes etc. All of these classic songs are like several songs smushed together.

So anyways… another benefit to singing is that it is helping me heal imbalances in my neck. There are certain ways that the vertebrae in my neck are misaligned. If you are aware of chakra theory, neck problems equate to problems with communication. The throat chakra is the center of communication and I have found this to be true in my life. Communication problems are fairly normal unfortunately. Poor communication seems to be the leading cause of confusion and problems between individuals and communities.

While I sing there is the various vibrations of all the notes that I sing energizing my neck. On a chemical level, the oxygen that I am bringing through my body is helpful. I am focusing on sitting up very straight in my truck and it is aligning my spine which is one of the most important things you can do for your health. The spine is the central column of the body. As you perfect this essential channel of the nervous system it brings great wellness to all other systems. I.e. respiratory, cardiovascular etc.
