All In On Chattanooga

July 1, 2019 by Charles 1 Comment

Well… I pulled the trigger.

Brought everything I own to Chattanooga.

Something about this city has felt like home since the first day I drove through

The beautiful trees and the gentle mountains on the outskirts of Appalachia. My favorite thing about the city is the ability to be downtown enjoying city life, and within five minutes I can be on a beautiful nature trail in the mountains. The best of both worlds

Cleaned out my storage locker in Baltimore, packed it all in a straight truck and brought it all south.

You like how I got that sweet motorcycle tucked in there. That baby was the last thing to exit.

I’m looking forward to lots of fun here. The main thing that draws me is the nature. There is also a great acro community, farm to table ethic, and otherwise healthy outdoorsy people

Mom Harley Halfpipe

June 5, 2019 by Charles 57 Comments

Tried to fit the most amount of things I love into one photograph

Mom motorcycle skateboard halfpipe

Took my mom for a spin on my dad’s Harley.

We went winding through country backroads like my dad used to do.

Just relaxing. No hurry

Enjoying the trees, country air, and the world rolling past without a cage. It brought back good memories to the both of us.

I, of course, had a final destination in mind. It was this rad half pipe in Urbana MD. Got to get a little stoke on before we got back on the road. Pop would take curvy roads to end up at delicious pulled pork barbecue. Somehow, mysteriously, when I am at the helm… we end up at a skatepark. Haha.

Been concerned about mom being all alone. So, while I am in between truck companies, I took a few weeks to be with her, have some fun, and get stuff organized.

I spent many hours organizing Pop’s shop and office. As his health declined, so did his organization skills. I felt as if I were taking care of him as I put all his tools back in the tool chest and arranged the jugs of oil and antifreeze.

At one point I broke down violent sobs… I mean next level ugly crying. I had to squat down as if my legs wouldn’t hold me. When I finished bawling and opened my eyes the lights in the shop twinkled a little brighter.

Raccoons had a fiberglass insulation party in the office. Little bastards. That is a whole blog post altogether.

Mom is doing well. She got eye surgery, while I was here, that she was concerned about. It all went very well. She is happy I am here and we have been tearing up some scrabble matches.

I have been riding motorcycles and skateboards almost everyday so that makes me stupid happy.

I’ll leave in a few days. But I feel more confident that she will be ok. Our cousin Kevin comes by with his boys to cut the grass and check on her. Kevin is a good man.

I have a very sensitive nose. After driving trucks throughout America I notice that all cities and states have there own distinct smell. It is subtle. I love the way my childhood home smells

Vlog #3 Ocean Clean Up

January 13, 2019 by Charles 95 Comments

I was just listening to my favorite news podcast “the daily dive” and they we’re talking about ocean cleanup… A company raised $40 million to create a machine to trap 80,000 tons of garbage that has collected in the ocean between California and Hawaii the device is breaking do to basic wear and tear from existing in the ocean.

My idea is to simply build floating recycling plants in the ocean in the middle of this huge island of trash to process the garbage rather than spend all this money trying to shuttle the garbage back to mainland… So they can start with one and then build several floating recycling plants in the oceanTo process all the garbage

They talked of using 95% of money to reduce future waist and 5% to clean up past waste… I don’t know if that’s the answer. But it is certainly a good idea to think about reducing future garbage output. Because we are certainly trashing of the place

Vlog #1

January 4, 2019 by Charles 120 Comments

Trying to relax here.

Just want to make some lightly edited stuff and put it out there.

Here is me running my mouth as I drive on the Ohio Turnpike.

Let me see… I philosophize about my dad’s death. Sleeping in the hospital. The spine being on antenna to God. How the word God is now bad. It no longer describes that infinite consciousness and is confused in the minds of man. Enjoying my 2019 freightliner. Coffee in Chattanooga is good.

Oh I don’t know what else?

It’s just fun to run my mouth. I think I’ve bugged out a little bit. Driving down the road is fun America is beautiful. Sometimes I am tired but then I get in my truck and get headed down the road and I am like,

“woo hoo truck driving! Woo hoo truck driving!”

I am pretty much eating 90% vegetables when I started eating meat again I gained some weight and I thought it was muscle but I was really just getting fat and my friends wife called me a turkey in a funny Ukrainian accent.
