Rainbows Always Mean Good Fortune…right?!?!

February 27, 2017 by Charles 2 Comments

I was totally like the double rainbow dude when we saw this epic brilliant arching prism on the way to the mountain

Yea…  I was seriously lunchin out to this amazing rainbow. Sometimes I believe in symbolic phenomena and sometimes I think it is hog-wash hocus pocus. That day I was a believer.

It’s entirely up to me whether I find symbolic meaning in something or not. Due to the subjective nature of ‘signs from the universe’ everyone will take them to mean something different. I chose to think that this rainbow meant that our mountain ski and snowboard trip was going to be epic and the beginning of great fortune

And my hypothesis proved correct. We had an amazing time at Mammoth. The trip has brought my brother and I closer together. We had time to plot and scheme on potential future projects. I may have broken some ribs…  but hey… a few broken ribs is minor compared to extraordinary emotional and psychic groundwork. Blessings to you

Half naked in the mountain snow. Cold therapy, climate conditioning

February 26, 2017 by Charles 1 Comment

Rolling around half naked in the snow. Ooo it feels so good.  Rather, it really makes you feel alive. In our modern climate controlled world we rarely feel natural fluctuations in temperature.

Getting out of the comfort zone builds immunity strength and slew of other benefits. Had to be careful climbing in and out of the hot tub. The railing was frozen and my wet hand would stick to the frozen metal!

Watch the full video! Shocking the systems with cold temperatures triggers vasoconstriction and helps to generate brown fat which burns white fat for energy. I am really excited about this climate training. The increase in awareness in my body is absolutely wonderful.

Cabin is buried in snow at Mammoth

February 23, 2017 by Charles 58 Comments

Great week for snowboarding and skiing at Mammoth. Over 500 inches of snow with all the powder your precious little heart could want. We really were very fortunate to arrive at this time.  This mountain is truly epic. I’m just trying to have fun and not dash my brains out against one these gigantic pine trees I am weaving in and out of.  The immense mountain is littered with red and white fir trees and maybe a few quaking aspens.

After a long hard day of riding I enjoy a little therapy to my taxed body.  In the evening I have the great fortune of access to an outdoor jacuzzi next to piles of snow.  so I alternate laying in the snow and easing into the hot tub.  Click here to see my post about this form of cold therapy/climate conditioning.

Training in a Kenworth

February 20, 2017 by Charles Leave a Comment

Did my 200 hour training in this monster!  What a treat it was to learn trucking in this sweet kenworth!  Spent about 6 weeks driving from one end of America to the other in this excellent truck. Gonna have to get my own truck soon because this O/O owner operator truck puts the company trucks to shame
